A pharmaceutical executive with Mission Pharmacal and all of its subsidiaries, Terrell “Terry” Herring balances his professional activities with various charitable pursuits. Over the years, Terrell Herring has dedicated his time and resources to several organizations, including March of Dimes.
In a recent press release, March of Dimes announced its status as one of three organizations recognized by the Patient Safety Movement Foundation for its commitment to avoiding preventable deaths. For the past three years, the foundation has recognized health care organizations for their work to prevent patient deaths as part of its dedication to achieving zero preventable deaths by 2020. The other two honorees for 2017 were Hospital Quality Institute and the Newborn Foundation.
With commitments projected to save up to 7,005 lives annually, March of Dimes tops the list of 2017 winners. The organization’s actions toward preventing avoidable deaths were in the areas of maternal immunizations, newborn screenings, and preterm birth interventions.
As a reward for their work, leaders of March of Dimes, Hospital Quality Institute, and the Newborn Foundation were invited to take part in a fishing trip with former President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter. The trip took place October 13-15, 2017.
